Feather River Body Eyeshadows

A while ago I heard about an indie company called Feather River Body.  They sell pressed eyeshadows, highlights, nail polish and other beauty items.  I purchased several eyeshadows from Heather at Feather River Body and I'd like to share a couple looks with you today.  I haven't swatched the shadows yet, but I'm hoping to get to that soon.

The shadows shipped the day after I ordered them, talk about quick shipping.  They were packaged nicely and all arrived intact.  They are individually packaged in a cardboard container, and have metallic pans with the names on the back for easy reference.

These are the colors I got.  They are all beautiful and I can't wait to use them all.  They are professionally pressed and look very nice in my metal palette.

Here is the close up of the look I did.  I used about four shadows to get this look.  The eyeshadows are extremely pigmented and were very easy to apply.

Lost Princess is featured in this look.  This is the color I was most excited about trying upon receiving my package.  It is such a bright gorgeous color that made the blue of my eyes pop.  I am so in love with this color.

Have you heard of Feather River Body?  What do you think of their shadows?

Sigma Creme de Couture Eyeshadow

I purchased the Sigma Creme de Couture Eyeshadow palette right after it released three years ago (at my first trip to the Mall of America!)  I have loved this palette since the day I bought it, and it continues to be a favorite of mine.

A while back I participated in a challenge with a couple friends on Instagram where we did a look based on our favorite holiday.  One of my favorite holidays is Easter, and I knew this was the palette that I needed to use to create my look.  Here are a few photos of my look.

Do you like to use pastel shades?  How do you normally wear them?

Vizio Makeup Academy Smokey Eye

Hello!  The next makeup assignment I did for Vizio Makeup Academy is Smokey Eye.  I used to be scared of using black eyeshadow in any capacity.  This assignment made me get way out of my comfort zone.  I was scared and nervous, but after a bit of time, it became easier and I was less nervous.

The part I was most concerned about was blending it out and not looking like a panda with harsh lines.  It took a while but it ended up working out.  This look is darker than I'm used to, but it grew on me.  I did this look back in July, and since then, I've branched out and started to wear darker colors.

Do you like to wear a smokey eye?  What is your favorite way to apply the shadows for a smokey eye?

Vizio Makeup Academy Classic Natural Makeup

I really enjoyed the second assignment for my makeup class through Vizio Makeup Academy which is Natural Makeup.  Though this look doesn't look very "natural" to me, I still like it! I normally don't wear eyeliner, but I believe it definitely made this look!

Thank you for stopping by!  Next assignment is Sultry Smokey Eye makeup!

1st Assignment For Vizio Makeup Academy-Highlight and Contour

The first assignment for the Vizio Makeup Academy was for foundation, highlighting and contouring.  On a daily basis I don't highlight and contour, but when I have extra time or a special occasion, I add the extra effort.

I used the contour products that came with the makeup set that is part of the makeup academy.  I was impressed with the cream products!  The colors worked well on my skin and blended nicely.  Here is my before photo using the contouring map provided with the assignment.

And here is the after photo.  I may have blended away some of the contouring I applied, but I'd rather have that then the lines show.  I'll have to continue with my highlighting and contouring skills.

I am very excited about my makeup class and can't wait to continue learning!

New Adventure

Long time no see.  Thank you to those who have stuck around with me!  I have a new adventure I'd like to share with you!  I have decided to sign up for an online makeup school through Vizio Makeup Academy.  I've heard many great things about this academy, and I'm looking forward to learning to skills and to enhance what I already know.  Here are some pictures of the makeup that came with the kit.

This is the makeup that is included in the academy.  Today I used everything and I'm quite impressed so far!  Here are a few preliminary swatches of the eyeshadows.

I am very excited for this academy.  I know I have a lot to learn and I can' t wait!  I just submitted my first assignment!  And, I want to thank the lovely gals I have spoken to about the academy.  They helped me make the decision to sign up!
